Ex-Thai PM Thaksin in Nepal on Lumbini Lumbini, Dec 17 2011: Thailand´s former prime minister Thaksin Sinawatra visited Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, on Saturday.

During his visit, Thanksin, who arrived here Friday evening, inquired about efforts being made for the development of Limbini


Thaksin visited the Mayadevi temple early this morning and was received by Haridhwoj Rai, the information officer of the Lumbini Development Fund. He also offered his prayer at the temple and visited the holy pond.
On the occasion, Thaksin expressed willingness to contribute, with Thailand´s vast resources, to the development of Lumbini, according to Rai.The course of action should be drawn for Lumbini´s development,” Rai quoted Thaksin as saying.
